I also think it isn´t correct, but the Exif viewer shows the shutter count tags for EOS 1D, 1DII, 1DII N, 1Ds, 1DsII and 1Ds III. No other camera from Canon. I heard Canon 1D II N was the last camera from Canon with a shutter count in the image file, but the same shutter count tag shows up in the viewer with 1D III and 1Ds III.
Options. 08-14-2023 01:51 PM. The EOS Utility does not provide a way to read Shutter Count. Unlike Nikon, Canon does not save the Shutter Count in the EXIF data of every photo. The bottom line is this. The most reliable way to get an accurate Shutter Count is to send the body to Canon for a cleaning service, and have them read the count for you.

Technically yes, the shutter could have been replaced and the technician did not "reset" the internal counter, it does not automatically do so when you do the repair, you have to change that number in proprietary software. Most repair will set it back to zero (but there is a slim possibility that they would forget to do
The G7X Mark II does not have a mechanical shutter so number of actuations is not relevant, there is no way to check the number of shots the camera has taken. EOS 1DX and 1D Mk IV and several lenses! 05-24-2022 07:55 AM. DOES have a shutter and therefore it does have a counter, they ALL do.
