If not in the main game then outside it like the arcade and all. 2 players max co-op. Same goes for Arcade. But for PvP maps on Arcade, you can play with I think sixteen people, so you and your friends can play with Randoms if you like. But yes, Co-op in both the Story Mode and Arcade maps are two players max.

Far Cry 5 currently allows only Two-Player system support. This means you are allowed to add only one extra player as your teammate for this game and to complete your story missions. Because only one player can play with you at a time, you must be very selective when choosing your friend to play with. You will have to pick one of your top players.
In Far Cry 3, there was a separate side-story that you could play with a friend. In Far Cry 4, all side quests were accessible in co-op mode but the main story was still locked down to single player.
Boards. Far Cry 5. More than 2 person co-op? mrmontie 6 years ago #1. I see that they announced that you can play the entire campaign co-op but they don't specify how many players. My two buddies and I are almost done with Wildlands and it'd be nice to drop in and out for up to three and four people. I believe the last one only allowed 2 people
